Susan Dobra, PhD, holds a master’s degree in literature from State University of New York at Binghamton and a doctoral degree in rhetoric from University of California, Berkeley. After teaching writing, communications, and literature at the university level for 20 years, she began a second career as the editorial director of two internationally distributed magazines, a third career as a freelance editor, and then a fourth career as a grant writer.
A published writer, she periodically teaches writing, literature, critical thinking, documentary film, and criticism at California State University, Chico and Butte College as well as an occasional proposal-writing course for the University of Phoenix Online all while happily writing grants for the worthy community organizations served by Gary Bess Associates. She lives with her partner, John-Michael, and their son, Skyler, in beautiful, idyllic Paradise.
