Giovanna is the most recent member of the team to join GBA in May 2019. She has a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from California State University, Sacramento and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).  Giovanna has a wide array of experience in Public Health including health education, research, and advocacy. Most recently, she has been involved in a region-wide Community Health Needs Assessment project in Sacramento and has supported a statewide coalition dedicated to eliminating vaccine-preventable diseases in children, adolescents, and adults. Giovanna is passionate about reproductive and maternal and child health, and one day hopes to work towards reducing maternal and infant health disparities through education, research, and policy reform.

In addition to working at GBA, Giovanna enjoys spending quality time with her son, Valentino, and husband, Cameron. She loves cooking, gardening, exercising, and listening to podcasts and/or audiobooks. Most recently, Giovanna has started volunteering as a birth Doula where she gets the honor of supporting mothers and families towards a positive birth experience.
