Katie Strautman

Katie joined GBA in April 2016. Katie has a range of experience working with nonprofit organizations and public agencies. Her focus is on community needs assessments, governance, program evaluation, population health and strategic planning, and grant proposal development. Prior to joining GBA, Katie was a Project Manager for a regional leadership organization in Sacramento where she developed several community-based health needs assessments. Katie also worked for three years in Washington, DC for two national organizations — National Association of Counties (NACo) and National Association of County Behavioral Health and Developmental Disability Directors (NACBHDD) — providing assistance to local communities in fostering health and behavioral health improvement efforts. Katie has her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) from the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California. Katie received her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from California State University, Chico. Her research interests include the intersection of consumer participation and empowerment on nonprofit boards of directors; federally qualified health centers; and consumer-majority boards of directors.

Katie works out of her home office in Rocklin, California. When not in the office, Katie enjoys spending time with her sons, Brody and Blake, and her husband, Tim. You can also find Katie with her horses, Bella and Romeo.
